Cancer is a b*tch .... we've all felt its impact and had it take away a loved family member or friend too early in life. We've joined this rally because we have been impacted and wanted to help support critical research that one day, hopefully not too long from now, will find a way to eradicate its scourge.
The Sunday Drivers as a team are rally veterans (even if the lineup has changed a few times) who just can't get enough of the rough roads and dust ! For the team this year will be our 3rd rally and for the car (a 1985 Peugeot 505 GTI with a mere 405,000kms on the clock) it's 4th ... clearly we're suckers for punishment. Over these rallies we've been to fortunate to see amazing parts of our great country, meet some crazy and fun people and generally had the times of our lives.
For 2019 we're embarking on the Melbourne to Townsville rally. By our very rough calculations, including getting to and from the event start and finish from Sydney it'll be close to 7,500kms. With this in mind we're looking to raise at least $1 per km and encourage you to dig deep.
Beyond straight donations (which we greatly appreciate), we'll be looking for corporate sponsors and hosting a number of fun events - stay tuned for those !
We'll aim to keep this page updated with our efforts leading up to and during the rally plus you can follow our Instagram page here - https://www.instagram.com/sunday_drivers_rally/
Thanks in advance for your support

Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,000, this year for the 10th year anniversary rally, over a 7 day across Australia endeavour to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.
Thanks to all who attended the Sunday Drivers' first fundraiser of the year over the weekend at the Australia vs England Polo Test Match. The sun was shining, the grass was green and good times were had. Best of all the Aussies got up 9-8 and valuable funds raised for our efforts !
Shitbox Rally is a dedicated fundraising event for cancer research with funds going to Cancer Council.
Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.
Thanks to the community funds raised such as Shitbox Rally we can fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.
Almost $20 million has been raised by Box Rallies to date, supporting ground-breaking projects such as:
These projects wouldn’t be possible without your support.
