On 19th – 26th October 2019 Michael Wallace and Scott Sheppard will be embarking on a 3,614km journey from Melbourne to Townsville (via Birdsville in outback QLD and some of the most formidable roads) to attempt to drive a car worth just $1,000.
This is an event that we have been on the waiting list to participate in for a few years. This is THE Sh!tbox Rally, and this is our teams donation page. We are known as Rallye Team Passé – loosely translated to a team of unfashionable Rally enthusiasts. So aside from the fact that you may be laughing at Scott ACTUALLY camping, and MIchael having to do ALL the driving otherwise he will throw up, remember this is all in the name of charity.
We are officially commemorating our participation in the event to Michael’s daughter Olivia who passed away in 2008 due to blood cancer. Sadly around 710 children aged under 14 are diagnosed with cancer in Australia every year and 100 will die from the disease.
This is the 10th year of the event and we are really looking forward to being part in the largest community lead fundraiser for the Cancer Council in Australia.
We have both lost family, friends and loved ones to this horrible disease and despite it being common these days it doesn’t make it any easier when you lose loved ones.
Our team can be followed on Instagram (@Rallye_Team_Passe), updates of our journey to reaching our $10,000 target, the Sh!tbox we purchase as well as the fun, laughter and tears of both Michael’s constant driving and Scott’s camping experience will be shared here, so please follow.
Thank you for taking the time out of your very busy day to read our story and for making a donation to Rallye Team Passé.

Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,000, this year for the 10th year anniversary rally, over a 7 day across Australia endeavour to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.
Shitbox Rally is a dedicated fundraising event for cancer research with funds going to Cancer Council.
Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.
Thanks to the community funds raised such as Shitbox Rally we can fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.
$50 million over the past 15 years has been raised by Box Rallies to date, supporting ground-breaking projects such as:
These projects wouldn’t be possible without your support.
