For Jeffrey Richard Andrew. For Marion. For Love. For Community. For Purpose.
Such an honour to be participating in the Shitbox Rally in its 10th year.
In October, as part of a community convoy of 250 shitboxes and amazing support crew, we will leave Melbourne and drive to Townsville via Birdsville - that’s 3614 km across this magnificent country in a shitbox!
Box Rallies' fundraising efforts aim to reach $20 million this year and our team is so proud to be a tiny help.
Funds raised will go towards the most vital cancer research projects in Australia including finding new compounds to target the deadliest type of malignant brain tumour.
Diana for Jeff and David for Marion.
Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,000, this year for the 10th year anniversary rally, over a 7 day across Australia endeavour to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.
Dear Melissa, thank you so much for your kindness and donation. Such unconditional generosity is demonstration that there really is good in people.
Our gratitude to my beautiful brother-in-law Tim and Kerry and Colleen of the Ballpoint Penguins who are offering to perform at our Fun-Raising night on Friday 17 May 2019 in Fremantle. And to Jeff's dad Ray, Jeff's sister Jessica and Jeff's Aunty Roz, who will come together to get us in to a groove with New Orleans inspired Jazz. Lovely energy of warmth despite a freezing evening in Fremantle for our Fun-Raising Night on Friday. An intimate and welcoming Sonar Room at Little Creatures embraced family and friends who came together to enjoy fabulously entertaining performances by Jeff's step-brother Tim and co-talents Kerry and Colleen (Ballpoint Penguins). Wonderful demonstration of family love and talent by Jeff's dad and sister Jessica who indulged with their masterful Jazz duo. And Jeff's Aunty Ros. Heart and soul oozed during her vocal delights. For the love of Jeff. For the cancer community. Fun-Raising for a Sh!tbox Rally. Simply, a lovely night. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us. Namaste.
So much love for Tim and Pam who, for Jeff, spent a freezing Perth afternoon on Sunday creatively demonstrating their artistic talents with decorating Paisley, phase one...
Goodness! Now this is a Paisley outfit! We are totally and utterly grateful to Nicola and Grant, the team at Modern Motor Trimmers and Josie from GotYaCovered for such a (colourful) demonstration of a random act of kindness in donating their time and craftsmanship for dressing Paisley in her very special Sh!tbox Rally outfit :) Sending you all our heartfelt gratitude for your care. For Cancer Council Australia and for the cancer community. Thank you team. Di for Jeff and David for Marion.
Just Be Beautiful Yogis :) Grateful energy to Jason Pachol for enabling our team to wear his Just Be.Apparel during our rally journey. Jason, you really began my Yogi healing journey and through your gentle philosophy and teaching I am Here. Now. And able to Just Be. Namaste.
My gracious thanks to the team at the Western Australian Primary Principals' Association (WAPPA) for so warmly welcoming me to share morning tea on Friday and for their support of our team’s rally participation. And a warm thank you to Marni and her family for enabling our adoption of their beloved ‘Turtle’ - now our ‘Paisley’. We just love Paisley aka Turtle!
